A routine traffic stop conducted by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office on August 4 led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and a stolen firearm and resulted in the arrest of two individuals.
According to a release from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated the stop after identifying a vehicle driven by Jonathan Langford that had been reported stolen out of Jacksonville, Alabama.
Further investigation revealed that Langford was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located a pistol that had been reported stolen out of Birmingham, Alabama. The firearm was confirmed to be registered to Alexandra Burnham, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the stop.
As a result:
- Jonathan Langford was arrested for Driving While License Suspended.
- Alexandra Burnham was arrested for Grand Theft of a Firearm.
The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office made contact with both the Jacksonville and Birmingham police departments, and all information regarding the recovered stolen property was forwarded to the respective agencies.
