A tragic accident involving a utility task vehicle (UTV) resulted in the death of a 38-year-old Dothan man on Sunday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m. off County Road 185 in Westville at the MUDD’N 185 Off Road Adventure Park in Leonia. FHP reports indicate that the victim was operating a UTV with a 39-year-old passenger, also from Dothan, when the vehicle veered too close to a water-filled rut. As a result, the UTV overturned and crashed into the rut, causing fatal injuries to the driver.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver deceased at the scene, while the passenger remained unharmed. Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved.
The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
