Inmate work crew assists Bethlehem softball program with new facility

An inmate work crew with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office spent Tuesday, March 24, assisting the Bethlehem High School softball program with the construction of a new pole barn at the team’s field, according to a release from the agency.

The project provided additional covered space for the Lady Wildcats, offering shelter and improved functionality for players and coaches throughout the season.

Sheriff’s officials noted that inmate work crews routinely contribute to projects across Holmes County, performing a variety of tasks that support local communities. In addition to aiding public facilities, the program is designed to provide inmates with opportunities to develop practical job skills.

The completion of the pole barn marks another example of collaboration between local agencies and schools, benefiting student-athletes while allowing participants in the program to give back to the community.
