Alabama man faces grand theft charge following vehicle theft in Noma

According to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation into a stolen vehicle reported in the Noma area on Jan. 7, led to the recovery of the vehicle in Hartford, Alabama, with an Alabama man now facing a pending charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle following assistance from the Hartford Police Department.

According to a release from the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, an Alabama man is facing charges in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle reported earlier this week.

On January 7, Holmes County deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the Noma area. During the investigation, the vehicle was later located abandoned in Hartford, Alabama, by officers with the Hartford Police Department.

Investigators determined that Jerry Mann, of Hartford, Alabama, allegedly stole the truck from Noma and drove it across state lines to Hartford. Mann was taken into custody in Hartford on outstanding warrants.

Holmes County Sheriff’s Office investigators are in the process of obtaining warrants to formally charge Mann with grand theft of a motor vehicle.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office expressed appreciation to the Hartford Police Department for their assistance in recovering the vehicle and for their cooperation in bringing the case to a resolution.
