The Town of Esto saw multiple changes to its governing body during the Tuesday, Jan. 20 council meeting, as Council Member Heather Sue Huckaby formally resigned from her position and Donna Davis was sworn in to fill a separate vacant seat on the council.
Huckaby submitted a written resignation letter dated Jan. 20, 2026, formally stepping down from her role as Town of Esto Council Member for Seat 3, effective immediately.
“Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from my position as Town of Esto Council Member, Seat 3, effective January 20, 2026,” Huckaby wrote. “It has been an honor to serve the residents of the Town of Esto.”
In the letter, Huckaby expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the town and to work alongside fellow council members, noting her appreciation for the experience and wishing continued success for the Town of Esto and those who remain in service.

During the same meeting, Donna Davis was officially sworn in as a member of the Esto Town Council, filling Seat 5, which had been vacated following the resignation of Teresa Harrison.
The oath of office was administered by Esto Town Clerk Ben Tew, with Davis raising her right hand and affirming her commitment to serve the town. Following the oath, Davis signed the official documents, formally assuming her role on the council.
Davis will serve the remainder of the term for Seat 5 as the council continues addressing ongoing town matters and works toward restoring stability within local government.
Town officials acknowledged Huckaby’s service to the community and welcomed Davis to the council, expressing hope for continuity and progress moving forward.
