PINE LOG- An early morning traffic stop lands two men from Texas in the Holmes County Jail drug and grand theft auto charges.
Around 1 a.m. on November 10, a Holmes County Sheriff’s Office deputy conducted a traffic stop of a white Saturn at the intersection of Highway 81 and Gilman Road for a traffic violation. After running the tag it was discovered the tag was registered to a red Toyota. The driver, identified as Tyler Johnson from Texas, was found to have several warrants out of Texas and Colorado. The passenger was identified as Christopher Molten, also from Texas. HCSO ran the vehicles VIN number and found it to be stolen out of Mississippi.
Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and found a syringe loaded with methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and the tag that belonged to the Saturn.
Johnson and Molten are both charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. Johnson faces additional charges of grand theft auto and attaching tag not assigned.
