Florida Highway Patrol reports the death of a Bonifay man following a crash that occurred on State Road 79 the area near Pine Log Road in Bay County.
FHP states a sedan driven by a 31-year-old Bonifay resident was traveling south in the inside southbound lane while a SUV driven by a 39-year-old Texas woman was traveling in the inside northbound lane shortly before 6:30 a.m. Friday.
According to a preliminary finding, the sedan crossed over the center median, directly into the path of the SUV. The vehicles collided, and the driver of the sedan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV and her 15-year-old passenger were critically injured, while a 12-year-old passenger is listed as having sustained serious injuries. All three were transported to a local hospital. All occupants of the SUV are reported to have been wearing seatbets.
