Families and residents across Holmes County celebrated Easter last week with a series of festive community events. The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office hosted a community egg hunt at Prosperity Park on Saturday, complete with an egg drop by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, bike and basket giveaways, inflatables, and plenty of time for neighbors to gather and enjoy the morning together. Earlier in the week, seniors at the Holmes Council on Aging decorated eggs and took part in their own Easter egg hunt. Rounding out the celebrations, the Bonifay Police Department and Bonifay Fire‑Rescue held their Easter Egg Drop, drawing families out for bounce houses, slides, and a colorful shower of eggs that brought big smiles to local children.
