Bonifay K‑8 fourth‑grader Peyton James McAdams has brought home gold after representing Holmes County at the Special Olympics Florida State Games in Orlando, where he competed in the Basketball Individual Skills division. School officials estimate this to be the first time in roughly 20 years that a Holmes County student has advanced to the state level of Special Olympics competition. McAdams went to the state level with one goal in mind — bringing home the gold — and made that goal a reality with his first‑place finish.
