The community is invited to participate in the 4th Annual Sickle Cell Walk & Blood Drive on Saturday, September 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church, located at 406 Hamlin Street in Bonifay. The event brings together families, supporters, and local residents to raise awareness about sickle cell disease and encourage lifesaving blood donations.
This year’s event will feature a 1‑mile walk, a LifeSouth Community Blood Centers blood drive, sickle cell education, food, prizes, and HIV testing provided by BASIC NWFL. The walk begins promptly at 8:00 a.m., though participation is optional and open to all ages and fitness levels. Admission is a donation of any amount.
Organizers encourage residents, churches, civic groups, and local organizations to attend, donate, and help raise awareness for individuals and families affected by sickle cell disease. For questions or more information, contact Sherryl Johnson at 850-303-9621 or Quishonda Granger at 850-373-7801.
