Traffic stop leads to arrest, detention of cash, narcotics, and firearm

On September 7, 2025, the Bonifay Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Highway 79 near Iowa Avenue after receiving a complaint of a reckless driver.

Officers identified the driver as Keion Grider. During the investigation, officers observed signs of illegal narcotics and other contraband inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle revealed:

· 27 separate bundles of U.S. currency (Money)

· 56 grams of marijuana in a large container, along with a THC vape pen and smoking paraphernalia

· A prescription-only Pharmacy Use bottle of Promethazine syrup without a valid prescription

· A Glock 19 handgun with two magazines.

Grider was taken into custody and charged with the following:

· Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell

· Possession of a Prescription Drug without Prescription

· Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

· Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Grider was transported to the Holmes County Jail, and all evidence—including narcotics, currency, and firearms—was logged and secured in evidence.
