LEONIA – On September 19, a Holmes County SheriffÂ’s deputy attempted a traffic stop of a Toyota car while patrolling on Brake Road.

The
driver of the car, Amber Haney, refused to stop and drove approximately
two miles before turning into a residence on Brake Road.
Haney also had her small child in the car.

According to HCSO, as the deputy spoke with Haney, she threw a small purse containing  hypodermic needles, methamphetamine, and other paraphernalia attempting to hide it.

When the deputies attempted to detain Haney, she began to resist. After a brief struggle Haney was taken into custody.

Haney is charged with fleeing and attempting to elude,
possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia,
resisting arrest without violence, tampering with evidence, and child
endangerment.
