BONIFAY – Lauren Kay Wambles pled no contest Wednesday, October 6, to being an accessory after the fact in connection to the 2020 homicide of 51-year-old Raul Ambriz Guillen.
24-year-old Wambles was sentenced to serve a ten-year prison sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections, followed by five years of probation.
Wambles was arrested last August, along with co-defendants Jeremie Odell Peters and William Shane Parker after a missing persons investigation led law enforcement to a residence on Highway 171, where Guillen was last seen in the company of Wambles, Peters, and Parker.
Investigators would later recover Guillen’s body from a grave site off Kirkland Road, not far from the residence.
Wambles is currently still in custody of the Holmes County Jail while awaiting transfer to FDOC.
Peters was sentenced in July to serve a 20-year prison term after a jury found him guilty of being an accessory in that same murder, as well as for his involvement in a conspiracy to tamper with a key witness in the case. Wambles was called as a witness in that trial.
Parker, who is charged with an open count of murder, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday, October 13, for pre-trial proceedings.
