The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for a suspect following a pursuit that began with a vehicle and continued on foot in the area of Bonifay Gritney Road and State Road 179, according to a release from the agency.
Deputies initially attempted to stop the individual, who fled in a vehicle before abandoning it and continuing to evade law enforcement on foot. K-9 units have been dispatched to assist in the search.
Authorities are urging residents in the surrounding area to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures while the search continues. Citizens are advised to stay inside their homes if possible, secure doors and vehicles, and avoid approaching the suspect.
Anyone who observes suspicious activity or believes they may have seen the individual is asked to contact 911 immediately.
The situation remains ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
