As the area continues to have dry weather and no rain, an outdoor burn ban has been issued in Holmes County.
The Holmes County Board of County Commissioners announced the ban, effective immediately, on Nov. 3. It will remain in place until further notice.
The outdoor burn ban includes yard trash, household paper products, bonfires, and campfires.
‘The setting of fires to any grass, brush, or forest-covered land, unless authorized by the Florida Forest Service, shall constitute a violation of the law,’ the ordinance reads.
A burn ban was also issued in neighboring Washington County a day prior.
