School Board visits Ponce de Leon High to recognize student success

In a recent celebratory visit to Ponce De Leon High School, the Holmes District School Board and Superintendent Buddy Brown took a moment to honor the achievements of local students who excelled at the state level and earned spots at national competitions in various academic and athletic activities.

During the assembly, students were lauded for their remarkable performances at several prestigious events, including the 2023 Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference, the 2024 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and FCCLA State Leadership Conferences, and the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Girls Basketball Final Four.

Additionally, accolades were given for achievements in the state weightlifting competition and various debate contests.

“These outstanding young leaders truly make Holmes County proud,” Brown said.

He emphasized the significance of their achievements not only in elevating the community spirit but also in showcasing the high level of education and mentorship provided by Holmes County schools.
